Your main goal over the holidays is to finish the reading of The Book Thief. Piper and I will be meeting online regularly to read aloud together over the Easter break, and you are most welcome to join us. We’ll advertise the days and times where we plan to meet on this page – so check back here if you want to join us. If you’ve finished The Book Thief and are wondering “What next?”, get in touch! I’m very happy to point you in the direction of a range of enrichment approaches.

NCEA 2.9 – Wide Reading Optional Assessment

If you’re keen to use your extra time well, why not consider completing the optional “Wide Reading” paper – the credits could be of real value to you this year, and you get to read, watch films and record your response. Here are all the details – I strongly recommend if you’re thinking of doing this project to get in touch with me. I can help with text selection (they need to be approved by me) and also explain the options you have in my class for presenting your responses.
